And like him, it must also know when to roar and when to whisper. The key is consistent practice, long speeches, sudden crescendos, abrupt decrescendos, always testing, always pushing the limits.

    Sustaining Vocal Health: Diet, Rest, and Lifestyle

    But what fuels this voice, this powerful tool? Diet, rest, and lifestyle, these are the bricks and mortar of our vocal health. Hydrate, for water is the oil in our vocal machinery. Rest, for even the most fierce warrior needs his sleep. Avoid smoke, avoid shouting, for they are the rust, the termite to our voice. Your lifestyle is the fortress, protecting and nurturing your vocal health.
